Zikhron Yaakov, May 29, 2017 – In the north of Israel, 35km south of Haifa there is the small picturesque town of Zikhron Yaakov. The local Conservative Community VeAhavta will inaugurate a new Torah scroll today, at 6:30 pm. This is an awesome event you should consider to attend if you can when you are learning about Jewish Holidays and celebrations. The outdoor procession will begin from 25 HaKovshim Street. The Sefer Torah will be carried under a chuppah (Hebrew for “marriage canopy”), all the way to the Conservative Community Center in the HaShmura Mall, accompanied by song and dance.
